Map Intel: Echoes of the Shadows

Echoes of the Shadows is set across the corrupted Voss Estate. It is VEILBREAK’s most interior-focused launch map, combining courtyards, multiple floors, underground routes, rooftops, archives, service passages, and individually designed rooms.

Confirmed Areas

Breach Court, East Courtyard, Moon Observatory, Shattered Ballroom, Lantern Hall, Drowned Garden, Chapel of Echoes, Voss Manor Foyer, Hall of Portraits, Servants’ Passage, Black Undercroft, Whispering Archive, Rune Library, Veil Vault, Moonless Roof, Umbra Sanctum, and Old Shadow Quarter form the estate’s connected route.

Conduit Runes

The estate has no single power switch. Four Conduit Runes must be defended at Breach Court, East Courtyard, Moon Observatory, and Shattered Ballroom.

• East Courtyard uses a moving defense circle.
• Moon Observatory introduces sweeping shadow beams.
• Shattered Ballroom punishes players outside the protected circle with Shadowbound pressure.

Completing all four activates the Shadow Dynamo at Moon Observatory and awards 1,000 Essence.

The Forge Route

Three hidden symbols must be secured through lockdowns. Players then collect an Iron Ingot and Copper Cable, build the Power Transmitter in the Rune Library, and install it in the Umbra Sanctum to restore Forge access.

Mourning Bloom and Ilyana Voss

The Mourning Bloom can appear in Drowned Garden, Chapel of Echoes, East Courtyard, Voss Manor Foyer, Shattered Ballroom, or Black Undercroft. Charging it with 35 souls calls the ghost of Ilyana Voss into the estate.

A Rune Stone and three Rune Clock interactions empower Ilyana. Once empowered, she opens the case containing the first free Noah’s Superistic Folly.

The Threefold Relics

The Cracked Veil Prism becomes the Restored Veil Prism through mirror and lunar alignment. The Dormant Mourning Sigil becomes the Awakened Mourning Sigil through portraits and bells. The Sealed Shadow Codex becomes the Translated Shadow Codex after Runebearer progress, a six-rune input, and a 90-second defense.

The Echo Trials

• Elias Voss — Blood of the House: expose the true Doppelghast in the Foyer.
• Mara Vale — Weight of the Dead: carry and defend the lantern.
• Jonah Creed — Broken Moon: reproduce ring tones and survive the defense.
• Lena Wraith — Unseen Names: identify hidden names; wrong inputs release a Doppelghast.

Hostile Forces

Echoes of the Shadows contains Zombies, Sprinters, Veil Runners, Hushlings, Runebearers, Shadowbound, Doppelghasts, and the Abomination.

Final Rite

Placing the four recovered Echoes at the Threefold Gate opens the route beyond the Umbra Sanctum and begins the final boss encounter in a separate arena.
