The Forge is VEILBREAK’s weapon-upgrade system. It is not available immediately. Every map asks players to establish access through location-specific objectives before the first weapon can be transformed.

That requirement makes the Forge part of the map rather than a detached vending machine. Reaching it tests route knowledge, resource planning, and the ability to survive while completing the location’s activation path.

Forge access is map-specific. The upgrade tiers are consistent, but the route to the machine belongs to the map you are playing.

What the Forge Changes

Forge upgrades increase a weapon’s ability to remain useful as enemy pressure rises. Damage is the primary improvement, but upgraded weapons can also receive expanded ammunition, improved handling, stronger penetration, altered projectile behaviour, or weapon-specific properties.

Not every weapon receives the same transformation. A precision weapon should remain precise. A crowd-control weapon should become better at controlling space. The Forge strengthens identity instead of flattening the arsenal into identical damage output.

Forge Tiers

Tier I

The first transformation establishes the weapon as a reliable mid-game tool. It is the most important upgrade for a weapon you intend to keep and should usually be prioritized before optional spending.

Tier II

The second transformation extends the weapon’s useful round range and strengthens its core role. Ammunition and handling improvements become increasingly important as enemy density grows.

Tier III

The final standard tier is built for sustained high-round pressure and boss preparation. It represents the weapon’s complete normal Forge path, though Oaths, mastery unlocks, map utilities, and team composition still determine how effectively it performs.

Unlocking the Forge in Echoes of the Shadows

The Voss Estate hides the Forge route behind three symbols and a damaged Power Transmitter. The three symbols can appear across different rooms, and interacting with each begins a lockdown that must be survived before the symbol is secured.

  • First symbol region: Breach Court, Lantern Hall, or Drowned Garden.
  • Second symbol region: East Courtyard, Hall of Portraits, or Voss Manor Foyer.
  • Third symbol region: Moon Observatory, Veil Vault, or Moonless Roof.

The Power Transmitter requires an Iron Ingot and Copper Cable. The Iron Ingot can be found in Servants’ Passage, Black Undercroft, or Old Shadow Quarter. The Copper Cable can be found in Whispering Archive, Moon Observatory, or Shattered Ballroom.

Build the transmitter in the Rune Library, then install it in the Umbra Sanctum after all three symbols have been secured. The completed circuit restores the Forge route and makes weapon transformation available for the remainder of the match.

Forge Strategy

Do not transform every weapon simply because the Forge is open. Decide which weapon covers ordinary rounds, which weapon handles elites, and whether a map-exclusive Wonder Weapon already fills one of those roles. A balanced pair is usually more useful than two weapons competing for the same job.

In co-op, coordinate upgrades. One player can prioritize elite damage, another can control crowds, and another can preserve points for doors, quest costs, or team recovery. The Forge is strongest when it supports a team plan rather than four isolated builds.

Wonder Weapons and the Forge

Wonder Weapons use bespoke upgrade rules. Noah’s Superistic Folly retains its infinite-ammunition heat system while gaining stronger explosive energy output. Its balance is based on the intended Tier III damage reference, with upgrade scaling applied from that correct foundation.

Map-exclusive weapons may also require quest actions beyond ordinary Forge access. The weapon’s guide and Quest List will identify the relevant objects once they have been discovered.

The Forge in Guided Mode

Guided Mode identifies the major activation objectives required to reach the Forge, but it does not remove combat or complete lockdowns automatically. Players still need to open the map, collect components, survive defenses, and spend the required resources.
